In the Know with…Herb & Root

We were so excited when Julia Kahlig-Garuba agreed to have a pop-up shop featuring her fabulous apothecary line, Herb & Root, at our location in the Domain this past Saturday. Having already smelled, sampled, and completely fallen in love with her handmade fragrances and body oils, we were curious to discover more about this Austin-based brand and sat down with Julia to find out more.

Meet the Model: Sarah Creel

You’ve seen her in our studio shoots and in our Valentine’s look book and now you get the low down on this all around cool gal. Sarah has been a real trooper for us, especially as we’re just starting out on this big new adventure with our website + blog, but has also modeled for us in Austin at local events over the last couple years. She’s given us her time, always shows up perfectly polished and ready to work, and certainly knows a thing or two about how to work that face. So gorge! Plus, she was not afraid to hop right into that swan boat in 3 inch heels and pencil skirt– what a doll! ❤

Midweek Mixtape

This week is positively dragging by, ladies. Why, you ask? Because I am #blessed– I have tickets to see Beyoncé and Jay Z’s “On the Run” Tour in Houston (Bey’s hometown) this Friday! Yes, I am dying. Yes, this will be life changing. Yes, I have planned my outfit.

More importantly, this tour marks Bey serving some back-to-back mega tour realness to us. She just barely wrapped her “Mrs. Carter” world tour– not to mention released a full length not-just-album-but-VISUAL-EXPERIENCE, performed at the Super Bowl and the presidential inauguration, all while raising a toddler. Girl has been bus-ay! She’s also graced the cover of Vogue’s 2013 Power issue and Time Magazine’s Most Influential People 2014 issue. Just this month, she ascended to the number one spot on Forbes Celebrity 100 list. Step aside, Oprah!

So this week’s Midweek Mixtape is an ode to Beyoncé, Bey+Jay, and girl power. It’s sure to get you pumped up enough to make it to the weekend and get you in touch with your inner boss.
