The Monday Mix: Knit is It!
Happy Monday, lovelies! We’ve just received the most lovely sweaters and sweater dresses in the stores, and we are so excited to share our favorite pieces with you. There’s nothing quite like the perfect sweater.. It’s something you can live in from October through March, and there’s just something so versatile about it. Luxe Lady Emily has culled her favorite knit pieces from our most recent arrivals – so just add your favorite cup of tea, a scented candle, and a Netflix marathon.
One of my favorite things to do around this time of year is to take more formal pieces, like this silver, super mod, body hugging dress and pair it with something more informal, like this cropped, charcoal sweater. How many of us have glitzy dresses or skirts hiding in our closet, only venturing out for the holidays or special events? This technique allows you to wear your special occasion pieces every day!
The next piece I chose is from a new brand for us, J.O.A! We are so excited to have J.O.A. in our stores for fall. Their styles are super unique, but are still able to blend into any wardrobe. This cable knit, cropped, turtleneck sweater is perfect! I love the way it look with these high-waisted, flared Joe’s Jeans but I could also see it layered over a plaid dress!
The last piece I chose was this turtleneck sweater dress by BB Dakota. This is the most comfortable and cozy dress – I just want to live in it! I’ve layered an oversized, menswear-inspired vest by J.O.A. which has a very classic feel. I could also see this sweater dress layered over leggings or over a long sleeve t-shirt.

The Monday Mix: Wear to Work Edition
This Monday, we’re focused on essential pieces to add to your fall wardrobe for work. Often, what we wear to work tends to blend into the background – but that doesn’t have to be the case! Luxe Lady Emily has picked out a few of her latest favorites in a collection she has dubbed, ‘cubicle couture’:
My first pick is this plaid dress by our Luxe Apothetique brand. I know.. I know.. It’s a little loud – but that is what I love about it! With every color under the sun incorporated into the print, you could play it down with a black blazer or play it up with a bright color, like I’ve done here with this BB Dakota, poppy-colored coat.
This color of this coat is absolutely gorgeous. As we head into the fall and winter months, this cheery piece will keep you smiling through even the dreariest of days.
My next look is a bit more subdued, but still designed to make a statement. I adore the neckline of this Luxe Apothetique brand fitted tank. It’s made out of a thick, stretchy material, but it’s still snug so it’s perfect for layering under a cardigan. Here, I’ve paired it with a gorgeous shrug by BB Dakota.
These trousers are a bit unconventional, with front pleating and a high-waisted fit. I love them because they are a twist on a classic piece. They remind me a bit of Diane Keaton’s style, and I could see them paired with a classic button-down top and oxfords.

Amanda Tatom is the uber stylish host of Studio 512, the brand new lifestyle show on KXAN that airs Monday through Friday at 12:30pm. If you were lucky enough to catch the show’s premiere on Monday, you saw a handful of us Luxe girls give a crash course on how to get the most out of your wardrobe by transitioning pieces from late summer to fall.
